Some Kinda Recent Projects

Welcome back to my blog, it's been many months since I last posted and it's about time that I make an appearance. I seem to not have taken my own word of posting every week very seriously... teehee.

So first things first, I'm the proud parent of a graphics tablet, which I'm super excited about. I've used this tablet constantly since I got it.  I did an insane amount of research before I purchased it, I must say that it has paid off, I'm extremely pleased. (It's a Monoprice 10594 if you were wondering.)

I don't have many finished pieces with it that I can show yet, but I do have this which I'm pretty proud of. And under is the reference photo I used.

I can't wait to have some more finished works with this, but at the moment I'm working on a big project that's taken longer than an afternoon and I'll have to post again about it later. Because all I have is the separate pieces, it's also supposed to be a surprise for a friend. Which will be hard to keep...

This is a watercolor that I did a little while ago, although it's far from perfect I do like it, and with practice I think I can do some pretty good watercolor painting, which is something I've never really been amazing at.

I painted these converses, I think last Summer, with my best attempt at the painting the great wave. I think that they turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. Fun fact a random stranger at Dollywood really liked them and if made me happy.

This one is a little acrylic one that's not quite as finished as I would have liked. I did it at my wonderful sisters when I was staying with her in North Carolina.

Time Really Does Fly

I haven't done a post in a while so I just thought I'd check back up with all you guys. It's been a crazy few months. I can't believe that so much has happened, I have a new niece and my nephew is turning two years old today! They're the sweetest kids alive and I love them to pieces!

I'm so fortunate to have such a wonderful family, I couldn't imagine life without them all.
I was just thinking that a few years ago, I would have hardly thought that at the age of 14, my sisters would been married off, some in other states. And I'd be an aunt to two chubby popcorn jelly beans.
Time really does fly! I thought as a child that adults were crazy when they said that. To an impatient kid addicted to skittles and starburst, time almost felt like it was at a stand still.

I've been trying to get into writing again which is way harder than I thought it would be. I can't tell you how many times I rewritten the same simple paragraph in the beginning of my story. I seem to have this crazy expectation of what my own writing should look like, but, the truth is I can't write like J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, so I guess I'm just going to have to come to terms with that. . .

People always say to strive for the best, which is great advice to an extent. Because, sadly not all of us can be the best at everything we would love to be great at. As sad as that is that is, it's a reality. We can try to do the best of our ability, I usually find that the best of my ability is not the absolute best and I strive for a unreachable goal.
 My new catchphrase is, 'Well. . . Good enough.' Because, usually it is good enough and there's no need to stress out over it.

Let just all agree that I totally failed making posts this Sukkot. I don't even know why I post stuff like that anymore honestly. My commitment level is soooooo poor. But I thought I'd show ya'll a precious post because I need to procrastinate cleaning my room! Let do dis.

This...... sometime in these months don't hold me on when, our kitty had other precious miniature kitties. Where am I going with this? My cat had kittens. You got it? Cool. Well their pretty darn cute and I needed to point that out to everyone so deal with it. Deal with the cuteness. And the blurry pictures. And the green shag carpet.

For Narnia!!! (Day Two)

I don't have much to say today, we got rained out of our Sukkah, so we stayed inside and watched the movie Narnia in our PJs.

Popcorn and Coka-Cola was present. Here's an over-edited picture of the beautiful bowl of warm salted kernels made with pure joy, happiness and sunshine.

I tried to take a picture of just the coke and corn but the artist in me was like: "This is not right unless I have threes!!" And now I notice that the remote should have been pointing inwards..... oh well!

One Hot Sukkah (Day One)

Beginning on September 27th and ending on October 4th in the year 2015 is the Jewish festival Sukkot, known in English as The Feast of Booths or the Feast of the Ingathering. The agricultural festival starts at sundown and it will run for seven days and end on the sunset on October 4th, the day of Tishrei (meaning beginning) is the first month of the Hebrew calendar. I also thought this would be a fun time to post every night so I'll do my best to deliver.

The holiday is held in memory of the Book of Exodus describing how the Israelites traveled for forty years in the Sinai Desert in Egypt before entering the Holy Land. To celebrate, Jews build a structure known as a Sukkah, a replica of the huts that Israelites lived in during the voyage.

You may ask yourself what does a Sukkah typically look like? Well I'll tell you my friend. It's a small wooden structure, which has branches as a roof, it's usually build in yards or on porches, courtyards etc. Most families opt to build their Sukkah from scratch, but some use prefabricated and easy to assemble ones. The insides are typically decorated with harvest vegetables such as corn and dried squash. All meals are to be eaten in the dwelling. During the festival, Jews are instructed to hold four plants: hadas (leaves from a myrtle tree), aravah (leaves from a willow tree), erog (fruit of the citron tree), and lulav (palm frond). The practice is outlined in Leviticus 23:40: "On the first day you shall take the product of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days."

Though our Sukkah was far from completely correct it was still a great night. We sat in our Sukkah or tent, and looked up at the stars while the three of us, Mom, Dad and me, were squeezed onto a air mattress.

Me and Dad put up the tent and found various fall decor around the yard to make our sukkah a little more authentic. If you notice in the very center of the entrance we have our dried veggie aka a dried hot pepper left over from our garden this year. Dad nicknamed it our One Hot Sukkah... Also notice the cement garden bunnies that we stuck by the door. Along with the strategically placed stick behind them.

 As we laid in the tent together Dad felt the need to point out sumo wrestlers in the clouds to Mom and every now and then sung out, "Total eclipse of the heart!!"

Since I'm writing this at night on September 27th, I'll write like it. Tonight had a blood moon or a Lunar Eclipse to be more exact, either way the moon turns red. It was crazy awesome! I can still say that the thrill of seeing a red moon is still on me, since my hands are still shaking a little bit.

All I could say as I looked at the moon tonight was; "The moon is red. THE. MOON. is RED." 

"Is it getting darker?? Oh that was cloud never mind." "The moon is red." 

I was (and still am) freaking out, this is a crazy experience that I will never forget!

A friend of a friend was able to get a much better picture of the actually red moon, that they posted on Facebook tonight. Look me in the eye and tell me that is not wicked crazy.

Gatlinburg and Good Mythical Morning

I said that I'd start posting more but I lied. I'm sorry. I can't even really say that I was busy, I've just been sitting on the couch making things like this,

I need a life......... So in between THAT and watching a lot of Doctor Who and Good Mythical Morning. I need to get back used to doing school work and stuff. I should be able to post more. Sigh. I hope that I'll be able to remember to post more... 

We all know that's not happening. LOL ya'll know me way too well for that. 

I did recently go to Gatlinburg with family and I'm still unpacking because who has their life together enough to unpack right away? Not me that's who, it's been like three weeks.

We went to this really weird golf course in a Gatlinburg, it was all black light and neon and circus themed. It was odd....

This is a post

I am someone that I like to find the small satisfactions in life. I like to make a strangers day or even second. When someone I have never met or never even had the pleasure of exchanging even a brief glance decides to go out of their way to make my day happier it's is the sweetest thing that can happen.
I hope I'm one of those people, but everyday life seem to get in the way of trying to help others. But in all reality isn't that what Christianity is about? Going out of out of our way to reach out to others to show them that there is a reason to live on with their head held high. We look at other peoples life and circumstances with such judgement and recluse but isn't that what turns people away from Christians us acting like we are the kings and queens of the world and that others are second class citizens. No wonder people don't want to listen us!
We are human too and acting as if we are the superior is going to do nothing but form hatred and pain towards us. I can go for hours ranting about Christians putting themselves on the highest pedestal.
I can not stress this enough we are not better than them we are just cleansed with God, we have the hope of external life with God forever! How to we share this beautiful message if we are tossing it down to them from our gold pedestal? We can't. That's like trying to help a person with a broken foot out of a ditch without touching them. I Have No Excuse

Yeah, somehow I haven't posted since late last month.... I have no excuse! I can't promise anything anymore!! I mean I sat down to write up something real quick like two hours ago and then I got distracted going through my Pandora stations to find a song I wanted to listen to as I wrote. I have problems and no excuse.
 Let me have a midnight ramble for a sec, I think that as general rule as humans we shouldn't make excuses. They aren't really valid 80% percent of the time and frankly most people don't really care much.
And let's be honest, if we have to have step by step explanation of  why we failed to accomplish a task, we could have avoided it somehow. I may be wrong but in my case this is usually true!
I hate that we feel like we feel like we need to scrape up reasons we fail! We are human and we fail sometimes we make mistakes, we deserve to be forgiven without great reasons. I will make the statement that trusted and forgiven are on two different tree limbs. Because you have forgiven someone that doesn't mean you have to trust them. Like you can forgive me for my absence but when I tell you I'll be posting every week, I wouldn't trust me...
Ya'll are the best, thanks for being patient with me.

Stuffs And Things You Might Want To Know

Hey guys I haven't posted anything in a while, it have been hard for me to write posts because all three of my family members that live in my house would be wanting to use the computer at the same time. Let's just say that 90% of the time two people needed to use the computer. Also our desktop lives in my parents room so it's hard to find a time that they aren't coming in and out asking me questions. So I finally got to where I have my own laptop (SQUEEEEE) and if I can stop procrastinating then I can start posting more. Not every day mind you, but at least weekly. Also it's easier for me to post in the winter. I'm more open to going places and I can just think better all curled up in a snugly blanket.
Also I'd love to take you guys along with me on trips, but I hate when I go with people somewhere and the whole time their taking pictures nonstop. I feel like that is the flaw in this generation, living life through the viewfinder.
So even when I take a few pictures, I feel really rude. So to some degree I need to get over myself and take more pictures, because in reality if you just snap a few and put it away, no one really cares. But I tend to be way too self conscious and paranoid about the littlest of situations.

If I am buying something, I research, research, RESEARCH. I never buy any devices without figuring out which one is the best cheap one I could buy, what has everything I'd need what are the best brands for what I want, things like that.  Well computers don't come cheap this one was three hundred-nineteen bucks pretty cheap for a nice-ish laptop, but I it was way over my head because, where does a thirteen year old go to find three hundred dollars? Family told me to save it up which would would have taken me several years seeing that I might have fifty bucks altogether right now. I'm a poor, poor person that never buys anything. Like ANYTHING, except felt and googly eyes. Ever.
So if you don't get a present on a holiday it isn't because you aren't a awesome person I just couldn't find a pattern for a Whalemingo on Pinterest. (If your wondering, what the heck are you talking about, and what a Whalemingo is. In an episode of Phineas and Ferb, a awesome children's show I have no business watching. Buford, the neighborhood bully, has a encounter with a alien Whalemingo named Tristan. It's possibly the weirdest music video I've ever seen but I love it LOL)

ANYWAY. I was never going to get enough pocket change to buy this said computer and asking my parents for the money has always been completely out of the question for me and my siblings just as personal rules. If we have it usually we've earned it to some extent. 

Well, my grandmother caught through the grapevine, (the way we usually communicate in my family) that I was saving up for a computer. Occasionally she feels so inclined to help us out with this kind of stuff. So she paid the buff of the expense for the laptop and I think I payed twenty bucks. So shout out to grandparents everywhere, they can be crazy but they are also the sweetest people in the world. We need to spend every second with them wisely or you will regret it in the future. Also I think we really underrate the people that are older than us. Because sure you are a expert with technology, but if you got lost in the woods, you'd be dead. But your grandmother over here knows how to skin a squirrel. Who's winning now? Well.... not the squirrel. Oh and you're not a winner either, so who's winning? Oh, granny? Yes. Yes. Granny is winning.

 Just putting that out there to chew on.

DIY Scratch-Art Paper

This is probably one of my favorite DIYs I've done they are super quick, easy, beautiful, and effective and didn't require a few trips to the store. So let's get into this thing. 

Grab white card stock and oil pastels or crayons. I prefer oil pastels because the blend better and they have a smoother finish.

This step is fun you just totally go crazy and make random blotches that blend together, make sure the colors are bright so the show well beside black.

Grab you some paint and dish soap, and something you can combine them on .

Mix together equal parts of both and slowly fold it together so it doesn't get too bubbly.

 Apply one quick even coat of the paint liquid stuff

It will look a bit patchy, so put on several coats till opaque one it drys use a tooth pick, thumbtack, skewer  or other pointy object and gently sketch out whatever you feel so inclined to do. HAve fun with this!

Art Camp 2015

This is my sketch book cover for the year.

 The first project was circles into animals, I'm sure I was cutting some of the rules for the animals but I have a alien, a bunny questioning my choice of pink for his nose, a angry evil cat, a extremely fat mouse, and contemplative pig and a messed up hippo

Because I am me, I forgot my camera on camera day so I drew this lil camera...

This is a group picture of a device, meaning you draw the just of what  Ms. Christie aka our art teacher tells you such as the shape of your device then pass it, add a strap, pass add a view finder.

I ended up with a cameraish thingy. 

Then we have this group drawing of a pet, I ended up with a monkey, pig, human, lion.

For Flower Power day we learned how to draw flowers so we have one with shading (the black pen), color (the pinkish one), and lines (the boring one).

Then I did this doodle for the Flower Power over all drawing.

I remembered that I did a violin drawing last year too so I unearthed it and.... wow I mean wow that was just last year!

This one is where we listened to different musics and did watercolor squiggles with how it made us feel with color and pencil stuffs and things.
