Taco Pillow & Fathers Day

Every year it seems like I never have consistent gifts for Mother and Father's day, I always get my Mom something cool and Dad gets nothing that year or  Dad gets something awesome and Mom a forked over Hershey's bar. Seldom do they both get equal gifts. That happened this year again, sorry Mommy... this Father's Day I made my Father these adorable tacos.

I know he shall love them! I haven't named them yet but I will, I want to come up with a cute way to wrap them up them up too. These are so cute, I won't even take credit for making it. Which which means all I have to do is link to her video but I'll act like I'm being a really nice person and giving Ann the credit.

Yesterday I was laying on my bed, it's really hot and I'm sweating, it's like 12:40 AM and I can't go to sleep, so what do I do?

Stalk all the people I subscribe to on YouTube and Blogger. I had nothing else to do you know like sleeping or something like that, so I pull up Ann Le's channel Anneorshine she is the cutest little human ever and makes the coolest of things. I actually discovered her channel from her DIY Accessories video. (Here's the link to that Ann's DIY Accessories Video_) And while I'm promoting her here is the link to her blog, LifeAnnStyle

But anyways I pull up her channels and the first video says DIY Cute Taco Pillow Plushie (Father's Day gift Idea)n   | Anneorshine. And I said to myself, I like DIY's, I like cute things, Taco's are BEAUTIFUL and pillows amazing for sleep. I wish I was sleeping. OOOO PLUSHIES. So i clicked on it and was amazed to find the simplicity so after watching it for another ten times I did it the next day. I made a papa taco and a baby taco to kinda resemble me and my father. Even if it doesn't look like us I feel like it takes the essence of our personality and put it in a taco, I think it even looks a little like us!

Here's Ann's video link. Taco Pillow/Plush
The size she did was more pillowy but mine are more plushie seeing the that I have minimal fabric, this is a great DIY for leftover felts because the insides of the taco is just weird shapes hot glued in a taco shell.

Thanks for reading a have a fantastic Fathers Day!

Best Chocolate Mug Cake

Since we have been talking a lot about mug cakes I wanted to give this chocolate cake recipe it is totally beautiful and delicous it taste like actual cake cake, it is really a yummy recipe.

Let's start with the chocolate,

First find your mug of choice I chose a Mason jar because this recipe is pretty large and it doesn't fit in most normal sized mugs so make sure that it's a HUGE mug because in my largest mug it goes over a bit.

     Ingredients:
  • 4 Tablespoon Self Rising Flour
  • 4 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoon Cocoa
  • 1 egg
  • 3 Tablespoon Oil
  • Two droplets  of Vanilla
  • Chocolate Chips (if you feel it's necessary, it totally is.)

Mix the dry ingredients then add the egg, oil, and vanilla, mix with a small whisk or a fork until smooth, then pop into the microwave for a minute, usually I take it out and put the chocolate chips on the top then pop it in for another minute. If still uncooked heat in thirty second intervals.

(Full cook time two minutes)

Thank you for reading this short but delicous post! Please Comment, like, and follow me on blogger.

Don't Expect To Be Stradivarius

If anyone has ever met me or known me for a while you might know that I play violin, I don't have a violin I can really call mine, I mean I've named it (Victorian) and I am attached to it but it was bought by my aunt. I don't really feel like it's mine even if she would let me keep it for LIFE.
Me being me I was doing some research for the best violins  and what to keep you eye our for blah blah blah,(even though I am no where near being funded to buy such a thing, its the lowest on my necessity list really).

Well anyone that types the words best and violin/viola/cello. I'm decently sure that it would pop up Stradivarius.

Antonio Stradivari is one of the best makers of viola, violin, and cellos in the 1700s. He was so good that his name in Latin form Stradivarius seriously has come to meaning excellence. (Evidently adding a us to the end of your name makes you excellent...)

My first thought was, "Welp THAT is out of my price range!" my second thought was, "I probably wouldn't be allowed to touch one with a ten foot pole" my other thought was "I wouldn't trust myself to touch it with a twenty foot pole I mean, these things are old and and a pole could break it and with the damage I'd do only Antonio could fix it."

And that had me thinking only Stradivari could make instruments like Strad, and I can do what ever special talent like I can do what ever special talent I can do, we all have talents to no other can do like us, we can't do things exactly like other people and God meant it that way.
don't know how many times that I've heard people say they can't do anything "talented" and that they aren't smart. But it's just because they aren't good at the talents that people classify as talented. Maybe you can't dance or play an instrument or draw, but you could be good at caring for people or you could be a very smart thinker or a great writer. Everyone is smart in some way, even if you aren't book smart or street smart there is something you and only you can do like you. And we shouldn't expect ourselves to be Stradivarius, we can try our best. And even if you are discouraged because Tommy can do it better than you, remember, do what makes you happy, and what makes God happy!

Peanut Butter Mug Cakes

Hey guys, lately I've been thinking a lot about my siblings, my sisters to be exact. With the middle child aka Amber living in another state and the oldest child aka Ashlea having a baby turned one. It's weird seeing your siblings with, jobs, houses, kids, HUSBANDS. I have two brothers I didn't sign up for, again weird.

I was thinking about the past memories have had with the eldest of the bunch of us Ashlea. I am ashamed to say I don't remember a lot of when Ashlea was home but when she left for college, I started to actually remember what I did with her because it was always such a big deal to go hang out with Ashlea.

When Ashlea was on break she came back home and stayed a lil over a week or longer I dunno.
But while she was staying with us, she made a peanut butter mug cake, me being younger, the fact that you could make cake in a mug blew my mind, so I made her make me one they where so tiny, and delicious.
I decided to track down this recipe, I found different recipes for mug cake, one was a four ingredient and the other a three also a five ingredient that was egg-less. (links to all here  Eggless Mug Cake The Three Ingredient The Four Ingredient The Eight Ingredient )

You may be wondering what a mug cake is, basically it's a one serving cake with minimal ingredients that you can make in a microwave inside of your favorite coffee mug. They get extensive, link --> Here Are a Few More Mug Cakes and Brownies

I'm not sure which one my big sister used, but it was one of those five links above, I'm planning on trying all of them, and finding my favorite, the Three and Four Ingredient are very meaty seeing that egg is the main part of the mixture, it didn't really seem like the one she used, but still peanuty goodness, though dense. I'll keep you guys posted on that. Feel free to mess with these recipes, they are quick and fun to make.

I took a few pictures of me making the The Three Ingredient, I wanted to take some of the Four but my camera went on the fritz, and I didn't realize that my desk top doesn't has a SD card holder so this with be a pictureless post.

(Update from later that day, the eggless is the one that my sister used, I recommend coating the lower inside of the mug with a tiny bit of oil to keep it from sticking so bad. This cake is fluffy and beautiful. I have not tried the Eight Ingredient because I was so pleased with the eggless.)

I will try to upload pictures of me making one of these beauties soon.

For those that are wondering, I have Skyped my sister, Amber and her new husband yesterday. They are doing well, being goobers? Definitely, but they are doing well.

If you want to follow Amber's adventures the link is right there it takes nothing to read it.... and she's a fun writer.......... check it.

Making Lipstick With Crayons

Hey guys, I don't know about you but I have seen this tutorial ALL OVER the Internet about making crayons, a little oil, and maybe Vaseline into lipsticks and tinted lip balms. It is a super fun idea and I really wanted to try it out myself.

For those of you that are wondering, aren't they dangerous to put on your lips? Actually they are a lot less toxic than some Cosmetic brands. Crayola uses food grade Paraffin wax and nontoxic pigments seeing that most lipsticks and balms can have hidden chemicals, I wouldn't say that's too bad!.
Also if you think about it crayons are made so children can chow down on them and not be hurt by them. Though I don't think that other brands would be too bad, as a best bet, I'd grab Crayola it's a brand that I can trust a lil more.

So I went out and bought me a 64 set of beautiful sharpened Crayola crayons. Did I mention that they where beautiful. I mean look at them!

Since there are so many tutorials of how to do this I will just take a few pictures and give you my tips and tricks to make it a easier experiance and I'll link you guys to my favorite video on this subject. Let's get this crayON! (I have a problem), lets get this started!)

First I selected my crayons, I grabbed three old ones and one new. I got a violet red and a blue and just plain red out of my old collection and this pretty dark pink out of the new box, I thought it would be such a gourgous lip color I couldn't resist! I think it's called Tickle Me Pink.

Next you need to take off the paper, you can just peel at them off with your trusty fingers,
but I used a utility knife to cut them, I hate the feeling of wax under my finger nails!

Next find some containers for this said lipstick, I'm using a old mint tin and this empty Chapstick container, you can also use lipstick tubes, but they can be harder to wash out seeing it's a thinner tube and the product is thick and the color gets EVERYWHERE. The thing about using the tubes it that you have to get out all the oily residue from the past product. But it wasn't too terribley hard I just used Q-tips and some soap and warm water. I used the same utility knife to take off the labels on the chapstick tube. You can also order empty containers like this online.

I chose to put these two colors in the mint tin, and I'm gonna add some Pure Pepperment Extract.

I decided that I'd pair these up together.

Break them in small peices, (the one on the left is too big it took a little bit for it to melt down) then put in in a heat resistant bowl. It's best if you use something you wouldn't mind ending up dumping. So maybe make a run to the Dollar Store.

Follow instructions accordingly when it comes to temp, but otherwhys stick you bowl in you hot water it will begin to heat up it is not a super quick or slow process. So just stick with it.

I didn't take a pic of this but measure up your oils and extracts into a small bowl to mix together decently before combining with crayon.

When everything is well melted, use a heat pad to protect your hands while pouring into container, when using tubes pour SLOWLY it doesn't solidfy too terribly quickly. When you've filled your container of choice, wipe out you waxy bowl, then put the lipstick into the fridge for around 20 to 30 minutes to set.

It will look something like this when it comes out, I scrolled it out a little and cut of the first bit so it's easier to apply.

(I wanted to make a crazy color, I mean I have a whole box of CRAYons to work with why not use purple??)

The purple doesn't wear well seeing this recipe is more sheer, but I totally love the Tickle Me Pink one.

(This was the most helpful tutorial.)

I Don't Really Know What To Title But Trust Me It's Awesome

Hey guys, I just wanted to make a short post. I'm waiting around till we go to my Grandmothers for dinner, and my mom's voice kinda came in the back of my head telling me that scrolling Pinterest for "blog post ideas" is not being productive so I decided to push on through my lazilness open another tab and write this for you guys.

A ton is happening, tomorrow my in the short future brother in law is coming in town on Friday for his and my sisters wedding ( also his birthday). I can't descripe the mix of emotions I have on this subject. Darin and Amber are the sweetest couple EVER and I can't imagine a better man for my sister, but them marrying means them moving to another state. That means my angel of a sister is way to far away for my liking. I love her so dearly and I can't imagine life with out with explosion of awesome I call my big sister.

(And Reagan if you reading this yes I do recognize that the 3rd is your 13th birthday also and I with you a happy one.)

As a kinda going away present, I gave her something that I will later disclose to all of you I'm just waiting for everything about this to be finalized.

In return she gave me the sweetest thing I have ever gotten in my life the time she put into this and how it describes us so much brings me such joy I can't even type right. The detail is on point, down to the hair sticking out of my bun.

I'm gonna be honest it was hard not to burst into tears, it's kinda like her saying no matter how far no matter how close I will still be there with you.

We are very close (as friends not distance) if you can't already tell and to some people  this might just be a painting, but to me, it reminds me of when we would stay up late drawing and painting on the floor of her room just being together, walking on the beach on vacation. Those times are the best of my life.

I just wanted to share this with you guys!

Thank you for reading, until later!

Round Rabbi Mordecai

Hey guys, I wanted to show you my newest project, it was a little big to show you how to do but I will show you the finished product, but first I need to go into detail why I decided to do this project.

Do you all know of the Elf On The Shelf, basically it's a doll that plays as the eyes and ears of Santa, parents change the position of the elf every night to make it seem as if the elf is going to report to Santa.

A Jewish family that celebrated Hanukkah decided to make a similar product, they made something called Mensch On A Bench. ( Mensch is a Yiddish word that means, person of integrity, or some one that has a sense of right and wrong, a man you could look up to, a good guy.)

Me and my family have been looking for a travel buddy for a pretty long time now, you may be saying to yourself, "What is a Travel Buddy?" Well it is something we can take to different places, such as on Vacation to take pictures of it doing silly things or just sitting on your shoulder. We were going to buy one of the Mensch on the  Benches to use for that, BUT we couldn't find a Mensch for under thirty bucks, so my Dad got me to make a little dude based off of Mensch.

So drum roll please.... We made the Round Rabbi, or his given name, Mordecai.

My biggest pet peeve of Mensch is that he had no tassels on his prayer cloth, I fixed that. Mordecai has a shirt, vest, jacket, and prayer cloth with little pants, I made it so you can add pieces of clothing such as a Hawaiian shirt and trunks or a huge fuzzy coat a boots. And since I'm me I couldn't simply sew his vest shut, I had to have little baby buttons!

I hope you love this little guy as much as I do!

I am excited to go to my Grandparent's house to show him off to my family. All most every Thursday ever since me and my sisters where very little, Thursday night we go to my Memaws's house for her awesome food and hugs. Often my Aunt and Uncle will be there too, it is such a wonderful thing to have the people you love around you, I hope that you agree!

I demand that all of you have a awesome day, until later!

Yes we still doing these cat GIFs, I've just been lazy. Plus this one is just adorable!
