Wimon

For a few months now we have been sponsoring a child from Compassion International, Compassion International is a Christian child sponsorship organization dedicated to the long-term development of children living in poverty around the world.

The child we sponsor is in 4th grade, Her name is Wimon pronounced 'why--mon'. She lives in Thailand, with her Mom, Dad and little siblings.

Yesterday, I received a letter from Wimon. As you would think, I was ecstatic, I only receive a letter from her every few months, because how many people it has to go through, From Wimon, to the people who mail it once a month, take it to a mail box that ships it to translation and writing it out and remailing it making it through to my mail box and it takes me several days to actually GET the mail out of the mailbox. So around a month or two before I get a letter.

Anyways, I was reading this sweet letter, She was excitedly telling me how she could read my letters and that she was so happy when she got to write back to mine. She told me how she loved to go to school everyday and that all of her friends were also excited and happy for that school term. She used the words, 'I am very happy that I can study'. She then told me that she was excited that she was progressing in school like she was.

Those words might be simple and you might think nothing of it, but as soon as I read those words I thought of 16.4 million children in USA that dread the thought of school, they hate their teachers and think nothing of the children that don't even have the privilege of even learning how to read and write let alone what all these children and teens do every day dreading every minute.

We are a narrow minded people as Americans freedom has made us shallow and unthinking. Keep this in mind this week. I'm not telling to feel miserable all week, but to appreciate your advantages and if you want to go this far, support a kid like Wimon so that their life can be successful and they can move forward to accomplish crazy awesome goals and be ahead in life.  On a less serious note, Wimon drew me this lovely landscape and I would love to share it with you!

I charish these sweet little masterpeices! She sends them with every letter and I always sit there for a few moments thinking of her drawing this little landscape it warms my heart thinking of her pencils swiping across the back of her letters and drawing those little yellow and pink flowers and bright sun!

My Baby Nephew!!!

Last month on the 3rd of June, my eldest sister, Ashlea, gave birth to a precious healthy little boy named Gabriel Allen! He is the first baby in our family for about about thirteen years and everyone has become quite the baby hogs! Everyone has been stealing kisses from his his little cheeks and tickling his little slightly plump belly and teeny tiny little feet trying to pry from him one of his precious little smiles!

Look at that! OH. MY. GOODNESS.

Longs story short, I love this little stinker, he is the sweetest and is going to be spoiled rotten!  I wouldn't trade him for a thousand purring kittens, not in a thousand years!

Until tomorrow!
